April 18th Diana Lindsay presents Ricardo Breceda: Accidental Artist

The Ocean Beach Historical Society Presents: Ricardo Breceda: Accidental Artist Featuring Author Diana Lindsay Thurs., April 18, 2013 at 7PM at P.L. United Methodist Church. Placed against the backdrop of the immense Anza-Borrego desert in Southern California, Ricardo Breceda’s “Sky Art” is the perfect blend of stunning craftsmanship and placement in the open desert landscape. He has taken a primitive welding art form of Mexico to new provocative heights. Over 125 metallic sculptures are scattered over three non-contiguous square miles of Borrego Valley. Diana Lindsay: Biographer and historian is well known for her many publications about the Anza-Borrego region of Southern CA. She is also an award-winning photographer. Join us Thurs., April 18th at 7PM, (books will be available)!

  1. I’m confused. What does Ricardo Breceda, Diana Lindsay, or the Anza-Borrego desert have to do with Ocean Beach History?

    • Diana Lindsay gave a program last year about another book. Being an author she brought Ricardo Breceda: Accidental Artist book with her too. Some people looked at it at the program and were really interested in the story and art. Because of the interests. and the many people in OB interested in unusual art. we decided have Diana do this upcoming program. Once in awhile we do have topics that aren’t all about OB. We hope people will enjoy this meeting and maybe even be inspired to visit Anza-Borrego desert and see these sculptures.
